Photographer Ryan Cavanaugh was lucky enough to get some photos from the Bernie Sanders benefit show that took place at Brooklyn DIY venue Shea Stadium this past Sunday, 9/27. The shindig was co-promoted by Jake Saunders (of Colonel Presents) and Tyler Kane (who plays in Nonsense and runs punk booking mecca Ipsum) and organized by Jon Fuhrer of Robot Death Kites, who has also been generous enough to lend his time to organizing many a volunteer outreach program in Bushwick (check out the Facebook group for his organization). There were also live visuals thanks to Preston Spurlock!
The show sold out and was actually over capacity near the end, totally packed with sweaty punks piling in not just to see their favorite bands (a truly diverse and coherent lineup!) but to show their support for presidential candidate and man of the people Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Our man on the scene was actually not myself but photographer Ryan Cavanaugh, who was able to not only get pics of the event and volunteers but also each of the bands. All photos are attached below, starting with the dank Bernie gear, obviously.
